Its no secret that locations for multi-sport events are becoming harder and harder to find.
Prior to 2020 Rutherglen Rotary held a very successful triathlon as a fundraising event. Rotary is known for being very generous with giving out money and fundraising is how they get that money.
Women’s triathlons are becoming very popular around the country nowadays, so we thought why not resurrect the Rutherglen location and bring these triathlons back to this great town, Kicking it off with a Women’s Tri.

For many, the word “triathlon” might bring to mind images of super-fit, toned athletes in sleek Lycra, racing on their $10,000 bikes. But that’s not what our event is about.
Picture it more like a fun day out with your two best friends. You’ll be wearing your usual Sunday workout gear, riding your humble bike, and running or walking through a course filled with other laughing, smiling, and slightly sweaty women. It’s all about the sense of community, after all fun events we always hear the same thing: people always wish they had joined in sooner.

Who can enter?
The BTS Women’s Triathlon is only open to Ladies.
The two junior events are open to girls / boys aged 7-12 years. As stipulated by AusTriathlon, these ages are not timed therefore no places will be awarded. All junior finshers will receive a finishers medal.
What bikes are allowed?
Mountain bikes, cruisers, racing bike, BMX bikes are all great options at our events. Your bike just must be in a safe working condition
Do I need a helmet?
Yes, helmets are compulsory to participate in the event. When you enter transition to ‘rack’ your bike, you will need to put your helmet on – at this time officials will check that this is safe to wear for the event.
Can I wear headphones/music devices?
You are NOT PERMITTED to race in any leg of the triathlon with any music devices including mobile phones, MP3 players, earphones etc, this is a very serious safety risk to you and the participants around you.
